We’ve compiled this handy list to advise you what to bring with you to your new Student Housing House this year!!


1. ID (Passport, Driving Licence or Student ID)

In order to collect your keys we’ll need to complete a right to rent check, make sure you bring your ID as we’re not allowed to provide keys without it!


2. Bank Details (Sort code + Acc Number)

We’ll need your bank details so we know where to send your deposit back at the end of your tenancy


3. Cleaning Supplies

Whilst we’ll do everything we can to ensure that your property is clean and tidy for arrival, we advise you to bring cleaning supplies to keep the property in tip top condition.


4. Mattress Protector

At Student Housing we’re very environmentally conscious, we try to avoid landfill wherever possible by having mattresses professionally cleaned, we advise you bring a mattress protector with you to ensure the mattress stays clean throughout your tenancy!


5. Kitchen Items (Bin, Mop, Bucket, Toaster, Kettle)

We’ll supply you with a microwave, but you’ll be responsible to bring the kettle, toaster, bin, mop and bucket for the property (please take these with you at the end of your tenancy).

 

Our top 5 things are above, but below we’ve included a full list of items you’ll need to bring to university this September:

Bedroom – You’ll get a Bed, Mattress, Desk*, Chair*, Wardrobe, Chest of Drawers* and bedside table*
1. Duvet, duvet cover, sheets, mattress protector (take a few of each)
2. Pillows, pillow case
2. A cute rug to spruce up your room a bit
3. Cushions
4. Decorations to make you feel more at home- Things that hang on door handles, photo frames, candles, fairy lights etc (Remember, don’t stick anything to the walls)
5. Photos
6. Scissors and Sellotape
7. Laptop, phone, chargers, camera
8. Books, films, speakers
9. Purse, cards, ID, passport, important documents etc
10. Bags)
11. Posters to brighten up your bedroom – (Only stick these to doors or furniture – Not the walls please <3)
12. Clothes (and coat hangers)- suitable for winter and summer!
13. Sunglasses (an essential to cover up those massive Freshers eye-bags)
14. A Tv (Let us know and we’ll pay your tv licence)
15. Clothes horse (or another variation of the word depending on where you are from!)
16. Stationery and books
17. Clothes basket
18. Ear plugs. Prepare for a few sleepless nights…
19. Medicine (paracetamol is a Fresher’s must)
Bathroom:
1. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, shavers etc
2. Toothbrush
3. Toothpaste and holder
4. Soap
5. Toilet cleaner, bleach, toilet brush
6. Towels (and hand towels)
7. Toilet rolls
Kitchen:
1. Mugs
2. Pans
3. Chopping boards
4. Toaster & Kettle

6. Plates, bowls, side plates etc

8. Bin bags, sandwich bags, foil, cling film, tea towels
9. Wooden spoons, pizza cutters, fish slice

12. Tea bags (an ESSENTIAL)

 

At Student Housing we’ll provide yo u with a full photo inventory of the property condition before you move in, whilst we’ll do everything we can to make sure the property is as good as possible a number of cosmetic defects (such as scratches and small marks on the walls) may exist, we’ll note these on the inventory for you to help protect your deposits. You’ll be invited to send us any other photos you’d like added to the inventory in the first 7 days of your tenancy 🙂
